Duhat
Syzygium cumini (syn. Eugenia cumini)
Myrtaceae

Medium-size tree to 15 m high. The leaves are shiny and leathery, to 12 cm long. The flowers are small, pink to white. The fruits are dark purple to black, edible, with one seed and can be made into juice and wine. It is indigenous to India, Malay Peninsula and Australia. It was introduced in the Philippines at an early date and is now widespread.
