Large tree that grows to a height of 25 m, with a smooth grey bark. The leaves are compound with 9 to 15 leaflets, which are 7 to 15 cm long. They are shed before flowering. The flowers are small, white to pale yellow. The fruit is roundish, yellow when ripe, about 2.5 cm in diameter, edible but inferior in taste. Indigenous to the Philippines, parts of Indonesia, and India. Occasionally planted as a shade tree.
