Alagaw





Alagaw
Premna odorata
Verbenaceae

Small tree that grows up to 8 m high. The leaves are aromatic when crushed, hairy, and up to 25 cm long. The flowers are greenish and grow at the end of branches. The fruit is a small berry, purplish black when ripe. Alagaw is endemic to the Philippines.

A couple of alagaw trees are planted in a garden and in a vacant lot along Bacolod in Alabang Hills.
