Medium-sized, strangling tree. The leaves are 12 to 20 cm long. The figs are numerous, crowded around branches and twigs, about 5 mm in diameter. Indigenous to Sri Lanka, Burma, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. Occasionally planted as a shade tree. Balete is a generic name for many species of ficus.
One babulong is planted in a garden along Don Jesus, near the corner with Doña Annie.
