Avocado

Medium-size tree that grows to 10 m high. The leaves are about 20 cm long. The flowers are small and greenish. The fruit can take various shapes, from round to elongated. It is green to purple, fleshy, edible, with one large seed. A native of South America, it was introduced to the Philippines during the Spanish period and is now widely cultivated throughout the country.
