Bangkal





Bangkal

Rubiaceae


Medium-sized tree that grows to 15 m high. The leaves are leathery and up to 25 cm long. The flowers are white and clustered around a spherical head 5 cm in diameter. It is indigenous to the Philippines, Malaysia and India. The wood is used for house construction, furniture, and kitchen and househld implements.

One tree is planted along Don Jesus near the Pacific Malayan Village gate.
