Benguet pine





Benguet pine, Baguio pine

Pinaceae

Large tree that can grow to 35 m in height. The needles grow in clusters of three, and measure 12 to 24 cm. It is distribured from Burma and Indochina to the Philippines. It is common in Northern Luzon at high elevations, where it is widely cultivated. It grows poorly at low altitudes.

A few Benguet pines are planted in Alabang Hills, with only one along Doña Mary that has reached the size of a tree.
