Bo-tree

Large tree that grows to 25 m high, with a ribbed trunk that can reack 1 m in diameter. The fruit is about 1 cm in diameter, dark purple. A native of India, it was introduced at an early time and is now widely cultivated as a shade tree. The tree is sacred to buddhists and hindus, and often planted beside buddhist temples.
