Foxtail palm
Wodyetia bifurcata
Palmae
Palmae
The foxtail palm grows to a height of 10 m, with a smooth gray trunk. The leaves form graceful, arching, dense fronds that look like a foxtail. The orange-red fruits are the size of an egg. A native of Northern Australia, it has exploded in popularity in the past 30 years. It was recently introduced in the Philippines, and is now widely planted in parks and gardens throughout the country.
