Medium size tree to 18 meters tall. The simple leaves have 2 or 3 glands at the base. The flowers are brownish yellow. The fruit has a fleshy yellow pulp with one seed. A native of India and the Malay Peninsula, it was introduced in the Philippines after the Second World War as a reforestation species, and is now widespread in the country. The wood is used for furniture making.
